My mother was a Butler....My mother was quite musically inclined .She
played the guitar and sang many of the nostalgic songs of her day. Her
name was Nettie Edna Butler and lived to age 62. Her mother Elma Collins
Butler was from the Collins lineage. Her father was a professional
fisherman in the Kentucky and Tennessee Rivers...She had a nephew who
became very well known for his mishap in a cave. This young man while
trapping for groundhog discovered and developed CRYSTAL CAVE near Cave
City Kentucky. This cavern was noted for beautiful stalagmites and
stalagmites. He installed electric lighting which protected the crystals
from pollution.. Many of the caves, like the famous Mamouth cave were
lighted with smoky torches...This young spelunker, Floyd Collins, died
after being trapped in another hole in the ground on a neighbors
land....My mother had five brothers, no sisters....Brother Everette was
interested in building early pioneer crystal set radios. Later built
vacuum tube radios as a hobby and chose to be an electrician as his
vocation...Her brother Boles Butler, a flour miller by profession, married
his first cousin. "
